I need a date for this quote of Wilson's for a thesis I am doing and if possible what were the circumstances in which he said it.

Didn't Harold Wilson say it when the Labour Party had a shock defeat in the 1970 election, which was delayed by a week?

During that week trade figures were released showing a slump in the economy and England got knocked out of Mexico 70.

I think he said it in 1964 not long after he became P/M
he also said 48hrs is a long time in politics
in 1960 at a party conference.
