there is no specific age for a hysterectomy...doctors will take in to consideration ur symptoms..ur desire to have kids...pain levels etc and decide the best intervention...this may not be hysterectomy straight away as there may be other considerations such as medication

i just had a hysterectomy 2 weeks ago, i have suffered from abdominal pain for 15 years abd i am 29. I have had ovarian cysts, endometriosis, and other stuff....the hysterectomy was the best thing i have done...so far. I feel great and only 2 weeks to recover, it was laperscopic and i would recomend it to anyone. I also before this had what they call roller ball...where they burn off the lining to your uterus so that you cant get prego or have a period...excellent idea if you are done having kids!

I hope you have been to the doctor. Having a very bad pain does not mean you need a hysterectomy and if as you say it is in your stomach it has nothing to do with your reproductive organs, which are in the belly. You are young. Do something about the pain and go see your doctor

I had my hysterectomy at 41 years old there`s no set age but dont think a hysterectomy is the answer to all your problems you really need to have a hysterectomy before a doctor will put you forward for one
Go back to your doctor he should send you for tests to see whats going on with you

Are you seeing a doctor about this pain? A hysterectomy is a big operation and usually only advised as a last course of action. I am sure your doctor can try other things before getting to that stage. Don't self-diagnose and sit there worrying!

I was 31 when I got a hysterectomy. It was the best thing that I ever did. My mother was only 26 when she had hers. I think that your DR should be the one to determine if you need on or not. you and your DR should discuss all of your options. The problem is you need to find the source of the pain.

Have you been checked for polycystic ovarian syndrome or fibroids? They both can cause a lot of pain. They have methods now, surgically and medicinal to shrink fibroids, which is quite common. Talk to your gynacologist about an ultrasound and Good luck.

doctors usually wait until you have a kid. they don't like to remove your organs until then but if you are in serious pain you could have one if you like. I have a friend who had one at the age of 16 but she also had a huge tumor. So at any age jst talk to your doctor maybe there are other things that oyu might be able to do to subside the pains.
