Just a few racists on both sides trying to stoke the fires of racism, because hate and prejudice tends to sell better than love and compassion to people looking for a scapegoat for their own misfortune.

Hello,
Not sounding raciest because that I'm not, but I can agree for some of the people. I live in Vancouver area Canada, where I live maybe few Afro American live here, rather more Indo Canadians, native Indians (First Nation), so speaking just in my side of the city, town, area, world you are right. We tend to hear more so about what white man took and still taking from the native Indians (First Nation). This will always be a sore spot in my eye's. Maybe only in Canada and in my opinion. I can honestly say I have never heard of Afro American talking about slavery. Not to say they do or don't, just hardly spoke of here in my city, town, area.
Thank you.
Canada is so Multi cultured, that we more tend to look on who's coming and how we are growing.
PS. Myself, I do feel it was a great injudicious like all other wrong full doings from human hands have touched with distrusting in mind, power and of their own doings.
I also look at it, all of the big picture," That is blood on their hands alone. They have to live with that in mind each night as they lay their heads down."

Yeah. Same thing happens with the First Nations in Canada. A few loud angry people end up falsely representing the majority. It's unfair. I think it's also white guilt. I know I feel kind of bad coming from a race of people who could be so inhuman even though there's nothing I can do to change history. I think some Germans feel the same regarding the Holocaust. People get defensive because they think they are personally being blamed when the loud angry people speak out. How do we change it? If we knew that we could finally acheive world peace.

You know I wonder that same thing because I'm not either. But when i express this to some of the other black people i know they blame these views on me growing up in a mostly white suburban area. Don't get me wrong, I know slavery was bad, but i'm not extremely angery about it like some people are. I guess it's because i've never really experienced any serious acts of racism. Just like stupid comments people make with out realizing it i guess.

I don't believe black people are obsesed with slavery and reparations. Even if you are interested it doesn't mean you are "obsessed" I mean that's your'e history and you shouldn't be ashamed of it. White peole can sterotype other races so easily... Sometimes people can be so ignorant, right?

I don't believe that, nor have I ever believed that. In fact, I've never met a black person or had a black friend who felt like that. It has become a stereotype like everything else. People should learn not to listen to stereotypes and let people just be themselves.

Very few of the Black people whom I have known (I'm white) have been obsessed with race, or slavery, and would rather not have it emphasized. They want to get on with their life.

I don't think that way but I have met people who do... I think they hear one story and apply it to every person which is really unfair. I also think that some black people probably assume things about all white people. It's really unfortunate because we are all human beings who bleed red.
