and that they are playing a stalling game for both sides to achieve a hidden agenda by ignoring the people, what should the American people do?

Is 4-8 years to long for a Presidential term during these crazy days? When you realize that an administration is failing, it is way too late. So you make a change by voting for the other party only to find that they are one and the same, again stuck with madness for another 4-8 years.

What I am trying to say is this: If you are trying to force change but are stuck with the same because of Lobbying and outside influence, how can change be made. The two parties are secretly milking our society and time for the same goals.

What would the American people have done in the early 1800's if they found that their whole political foundation in Washington had been taken over and manipulated at their expense?

If any of the people connected to the Founding Fathers were alive today, what would they think of our political enviroment in Washington today?

Let me start by saying that in the 2000 presidential election George W. Bush was not elected president. He was appointed by a US Supreme Court ruling. The Judges that his father appointed when his father was president ruled in his favor.
It happened using voter fraud in the State of Florida. His brother Jeb Bush was the Governor of Florida at the time.

Our "Founding Fathers" would not have stood still for that but our "Founding Fathers" were "Statesmen" who did what was best for future generations not "politicians" that do what is best for them to get reelected in the next election.

Maybe "Lobbying" is a political correct for "Bribery" which should be against the law.

There is a "Center for Public Integrity" at the website below.
I assure you that you will be amazed at how much money is involved and which corporations take the money from you and pass it along to government officials to prevent them from doing what would benefit you. Corporations don't care.

Hell, less than a month ago Ford Motors announced that they were going to pay a CEO multi-millions of dollars despite the corporations $13 billion dollar loss and after laying off thousands of employees.

What's a few hundred grand to a multi-millionaire ?

End representative government legally via constitutional amendment.Replace with True direct consensus democracy of/by/for the legal citizen Majority "LCM" To many rely on their votes for change without any means of proof in doing that, big mistake & you can not trust someone else to have you or your families best interest in legislation. Thus you must have the power/rule/control to bring the majority to wealth instead of the minority few who currently reign at this. Sorry but third party or many other parties is NOT the answer for they soon fall to the influence of lobby money! To break it up correctly the business & government need to be bribing/serving/influencing the "LCM" the legal public. In other words you the public the boss. Business & Government the sevants! Role reversal from the current situation! That also means the LCM rules & control money, the power givin to congress by the constitution! Wise up people stop being the land of the guliable sheep right for the fleecing! Put an end to the game of which you can never win at!

"The two parties are secretly milking our society and time for the same goals."

I don't think this is exactly a secret. Its the elephant in the room that no one talks about, perhaps, but its not a secret. I doubt that you could find a Libertarian that doesn't already know this.

Voting for either of the two major parties is like calling one of those phone sex numbers. As soon as you hang up, you always know three things:

1) Total strangers just got your money
2) You'll never be invited to their house, and they aren't coming to visit you
3) The real thing would be a whole lot more satisfying.

What can we do? We can vote as if we're the only ones that get to vote, and stop playing the lesser-of-two-evils game.

btw, Tomb below is a phony. You'd think after six years of the Bush v. Gore cases being published on the web, people would actually read them before posting lies. Anyone can find them and see for themselves that what he wrote is demonstrably false.

Like the law that represents the separation of Church and State

There should be a new law designed for separation of U.S. Politics and Lobbyists

Our Governments decisions are based too much on the wishes of the Lobbyists - domestic and foreign

Something needs to be done immediately about the foreign lobbyists

The domestic issues can be worked out over time and through different administrations.

But I feel, this needs to be done now.

I also feel that we need less media and more direct facts. It is far to easy for
"certain Flamboyantly Opinionated eXtremists networks"
to sway, spin and smear.

This is like the ultimate media wars directing us where to place out trust. We need to think and learn more, and that happens by just turning the TV off!

As more people realize the corruptness of BOTH of the 2 major parties, more will drift toward 3rd parties. Some will maintain the "I'm a Democrat" or "I'm a Republican" line simply because it relieves them of the responsibility for critical thought, but most thinking people will realize that no party deserves their guaranteed support.

hmmm catching up with me now. i've been saying it was all one party for decades.

in the early 1800s i think they still remembered a guy named tom jefferson and what he said. that line of his about watering the tree of liberty with the blood of patriots, but it ain't the1800s and now tom's in his grave; rollin' over i'm sure.

normally i stress none of the above, as i have until recently. right now i'm sittin' back waiting to see what pops. the real dirt hasn't started flyin' yet, it could get fun.

and too, i'm keeping my eye on this young guy (hell he's older than me). he's a hippy vegan, i'm neither but i like his spunk. and i like his platform. he's about as long a shot as you can get though, makes hilly look downright conservative. his name is dennis and his wife is a true babe.

let me stress, i'm not promoting this guy. i really don't like politicians. but check out his record and his platform, and i'll swallow all the thimbs down for posting this. he's a dem.

I feel that there should be some way to recall them.

If it can happen to Gray Davis, it should be able to happen to anyone.

If I don't perform my job or did so poorly, I can be replaced.

I don't see why it should be no different for politicians.

Pick the least "corrupt". Hands down, this is the Democrats.
