When i bought its temperature stayed around 40-55 degrees but now after 2 months its temperature stays around 65 degrees i dont know y.I dont know how to check whether its fan is working or not also i make sure its unblocked from the outside when im working on it .When i run a game or application requiring graphics on it its temperature soars to 70s and sometimes even 80s . Its quite scary to watch its temperature soar that high since i recently heard someone's laptop's hard drive crash due to over heating.

Highest seen temperature on it:89 degrees C
(although im not trying to sound it like im trying to set a world record)

It hasnt gone a thermal shutdown although i thought it should have .
I check the temperature by
Right click desktop>Nvidea display>Laptop Display

Please Help/Advise
and if possible send the photo of where the fan is located so that i confirm that its not working if it isnt.

The fan is working ... if you can hear it :). Also usually the laptop would not start if the fan is bad. Most likely you need a can of compressed air to keep the heatsink(s) clean, and make sure the rubber feet are still there. More info:

OOOo! Be very careful! I speak from experience! I burned out my dv5000 this summer and had to rebuild the little critter (actually twice, but I'm not sure the first time was overheating, but it may have been...). They said *all* laptops are notorious for overheating because the fan is on the bottom!

I live in an unusually hot and dusty place (the desert southwest) so I'm even more prone...grrr

Your best bets: keep it carefully elevated: say, if it's on a table, then on a couple braces (yes, I know it's a hassle) a little half-inch-by-half-inch stick on each side of the computer.

On your lap, keep your laptop on a board. I keep mine on a board about two-and-a-half feet wide by about a foot deep (fits between the arms of my chair). Better yet, consider one of those devices, about $30 or so, you can plug them into a USB port for power: has a fan or two to blow air up into the laptop.

Don't let it overheat! Major grief! I lost hard drive, memory, motherboad all in one swell foop!

Good luck!

laptops are notorious for this. I bought a cooling pad for mine..But before I did I used a small straight stick under the back of my laptop to raise it up off of the surface I was setting the laptop on..If you are using it on your lap then open your legs so that the computer can breathe. If you are using the power cord take the battery out. You need to get air under there. Never lay your laptop on a pillow or a bed.. There is a fan under there don't block it up ...

properly, truly warmth is a difficulty for many laptops. that's what you get for cramming numerous technologies right into a small area. the perfect supplies of heat on a computing gadget are the processor and the annoying tension. in step with danger you are able to examine if the computing gadget's fan continues to be working proper and the warmth sink isn't gunked up with numerous lint or dirt. too lots dirt acts as an insulator, and the warmth sink can no longer eliminate the surplus warmth effectively. If it is your annoying tension that's the main source of heat, it could point out that that's working too annoying. This in lots of cases happens in the adventure that your computing gadget does not have lots reminiscence so it retains swapping records to and out of your annoying tension. in case you run reminiscence extensive classes, you'll be able to evaluate upgrading your RAM to alleviate the stress on your annoying tension, hence reducing warmth. If RAM isn't a difficulty, or that's as you suggested and your DV2000 basically truly gets warm as a results of a layout flaw, you are able to compensate by skill of basically aiming an electric fan at your computing gadget, or basically purchase a inexpensive cooling pad with an excellent equipped-in fan/s. that would desire to kick back off your workstation. additionally make valuable the vents are sparkling and use your computing gadget on soft surfaces like tables. utilising it on couches or beds might desire to result interior the vents being blocked, premier to warmth enhance. wish this facilitates.
