Cat because they go to the bathroom in a litter box, they (most of the time) can find their own way home, they have interesting personalities.

I say dog. You don't have a litter box that, usually, stinks. The only time you have to clean it up is once in a while and you can use a shovel for that. Dogs, also, have personalities and they have many cute tricks they can do. I've also seen a lot more vicious cats then I have dogs. Another thing is someone said that cats can find their ways home? Most dogs can too, if you give them the chance to. We just usually don't because we like our animals to be clean and not come home caked in mud or wet.

For the most part, I am a big dog person. I love dogs and would have more than one if I could. They are loyal, loving, protective and playful. However, I also like cats (though not quite as much), but my allergies and my son's super cat allergy keep me from having one.

cat because they can independently be alone for longer periods of time and I think they are beautiful and clean. I have an indoor cat and he has a personality thats really quite something.....I call him attack cat cause he knows what sic'em means lol. My cat anyway is very protective and is always excited when i come home, I have been told he howls and sits at the window whenever I leave until I come back he watches waiting for me.....

If you want a friend who will never betray you and be true to you always, get a dog. But if you want something that is as fickle as an old lady, who will see your live as a meager existence that is there to serve it, get a cat.
You figure it out.

Always had dogs, but i now have no yard and i'm leaning towards my next dog being a short haired cat. I hate animal hair.

I love dogs but don't mind cats either. I know more about dogs. They are more fun. But cats are more self-sufficient

I love dogs but I think I like cats better. I love their independence and low maintenance.
