Ten of the little tick marks makes one centimeter. Fractions of a centimeter would be in tenths (2 ticks would be 2/10 of a centimeter)

Each little tick is a millimeter.

The metric system is quite different.

Some metric rulers have inch marks across the ruler from the metric marks along the other edge. Some do not. If you are asked to do conversions, keep in mind that there are 2.54 cm in one inch. If you wanted to know what 1/4 inch is in cm, for example, you would divide 2.54 by 4. (about 0.64 cm) If you wanted to know what 1/8th of an inch is in cm, you would divide 2.54 by what?

8. That's right. (about 0.32 cm)

Now there are 10 mm in every cm, so converting cm to mm is just multiplying your first answer by 10.

kilo is 1,000 of anything so to get from cm to km you'd have to DIVIDE your first answer by by 10,000.

Yes, it is an inch and centimetre ruler. To my knowledge, inch is imperial reading while centimetres (cm) is metrical. You can get them but if you can just order it online. In Singapore metrical rulers are a common sight. For measurements in imperial reading, I doubt Singapore doesn't have any. If you were in the USA, purchase it from any major bookstores in your city and ask them for a METRICAL RULER. it solely comprises of a centimetre and a inch scale, with some centimetre to millimetres. A common metrical ruler has readings between 10cm to 100cm. If you are unsure, just ask the storeman and he will assist you. If cant find, just print out a paper ruler from the Web using the printer, it is free, too.

10 milimeters = 1 centimeter

The centimeter is about 1/4 of an inch long. Who needs metric anyways? It's all a big plot by the Euros. I just hate that half of my car bolts/nuts are Metric and half are US.

1. Make sure you are wearing deoderant.
2. Lift your hand into the air.
3. When the teacher notices your hand (or your smell, if you're not wearing deoderant) ask him or her for help.
4. Commit your new knowledge to memory.
