within 2 days, my tulips have wilted terribly. I brought them outside to see if they would perk up but haven't yet. Should I hurry up and plant them in the yard or should I wait to see if they turn brown and plant the bulbs in the fall?

How do I store the bulbs in the meantime?

Tulips are very short lived plants. You may have overwatered them drowning the bulb. That would cause short life. That doesn't help.
Let them dry out. Remove dead foliage and store in a cold place till Fall and plant at least 6" deep.

Tulip blooms have a very short life. Sounds like yours are finished. You can't revive them. Let the bulbs dry out and plant them in the fall.

I totally agree with "Mom Knows"...they are done...dry out the bulbs to plant in the fall.
