No it is an invasive test as in the physical part and the personal privacy and should not be used. It was used for a short time in Illinois and a couple sued and got it stopped. Now you don't even get the blood test for Rh factor any more. They found out in Illinois the HIV tests were too expensive and took too long to get results. As to an infected person marrying without telling his or her partner they have it : that goes into a personal problem between them. It is a case of basing a marriage on a lie.

I never used to think this, but cosidering the amount of people that have it and spread it, I'm beginning to think maybe it SHOULD be mandatory testing. I do know the last two times I got pregnant I got tested for HIV. They said it's "standard" testing, so why not do "standard" testing for marriage license? I don't like the government telling me what I can and can't do, but this could be for the safety of SO many people!

I think that this needs to be a factor for more people when they are deciding to become sexually intimate with someone. The only way that you should wait until you get married to find this out is if you are waiting to have sex until your wedding night.

If singles started requiring a STD test before having sex, the spreading of these diseases would stop.

because of the upward push in HIV and AIDS, many states now require that events employing for a marital license could be presented an HIV try to/or could be presented with advice on AIDS and assessments attainable. on the instant, no states demands an important premarital HIV/AIDS try. So, actually, that's necessary in some states which you would be able to be presented the try, notwithstanding it is not required to take it.

Make it a law! Whats the big problem?Dont be selfish! I believe if you really love the intended spouse then you should be truthful from the git go!Why make so many people sick along the way! The test is non invasive, so do it and save a life or two!

In the old days blood tests were required before marriage..I dont know why they stopped but I think its a great idea to reinstate this practice for both parties involved. Its a skerry thing to know but also a good thing.

Shame on you Airtom. HIV does not discriminate white or black can get it. and I think it should be done before two people start to have sex. What I mean at the beginning of a relationship.
