I think you should bail and go out with the other guy you know that's crazy about you. He's an animal lover and would happily have a puppy with you. He's thinking long term with you and has no problems raising a dog with you.

If you didn't even get a present yesterday, ask him for a dog again. If you did get a present maybe you could say "Are we going to get a dog yet...?"

You could always just look at him as suggestively pant in his face. Maybe throw in a woof- woof? If push comes to shove just come out and say 'Where the heck is my puppy?'

I wouldn't say anything - I'd just go out and get my dog and make sure the dog pees on his favorite shirt, lol. That'll teach him to ignore you!

It sounds like he really doesn't want one himself. If you are not a good housekeeper,he sees double trouble, but if that is not the case....maybe he will be jealous over the dog and not get all the attention!!!! He's not stupid!!!

dogs are really expensive,especially if you get them from a breeder.maybe he doesnt have enough money yet to get one
