It takes a little while for babies to develop their vision. It may take him a while to recognize you because it takes longer for his eyes to adjust to the light changes and see your face. He may have gas or something that is causing pain or he may just feel vulnerable. Try wraping him in a blanket and comforting him. He should be fine.

Not a single thing wrong. They are dreaming of all kinds of things, then wakes still in a slight dream.
plus he has only seen you for 9 weeks, but he knows your voices. try speaking to him gently till he gets the comfort feeling of his parents and relaxes
The quivering bottom lip is something newborns do til about 4-5 months old when the muscles get tighter with bottles and pacifiers (sucking mechanism)
Congrats!

He's adjusting to life outside of the womb. Before he was never cold, hot, hungry, etc....everything was just right. Think of the first three months of a baby's life as "the fourth trimester" as that's how long it takes for a baby to adjust to life outside of their Mother's womb.
Try the 5 S's....swaddling, sucking, shushing in your baby's ear (this recreates "white noise" or static that your baby heard in the womb and is very soothing), swing, and side to side. Swaddling, in my opinion, really helps as sometimes just a reflex of an arm or a leg if they're not secured to your child's body is enough to startle your baby and make him cry. Good Luck!

Worrying is never good. When i was little my teacher told me a worry only stays as long as you let it, and to this day i still can hear those words coming out of her mouth. I wouldn't worry about your son, i would call his doctor and see what he reccomends but stay calm . Also babys tend to quiver their lips when they cry so don't bother about that one.

Nope. Sounds about right. When you wake up, dont you sometimes take a few moments to get your bearings. Plus he's new at this.
