I have two candles on each side of my entertainment center. They are both the same kind of candle, in the same kind of candle holder. They are both the same distance from an air vent and there are no windows open. The candle on the right burns twice as fast as the one on the left. Why?

Swap their positions around and see if the imbalance continues. Or place them right next to each other. I'd say maybe one of the candles is near a heat source - a computer, the DVD player, or the TV perhaps. If one candle is even a bit warmer than the other, it will melt easier and quicker.

fires depend on fuel, air, and temperature...

fuel is the candle - both seem similar

temperature - both are about the same since they are in your room

air - even though the distance may be the same to the vent, there are differences to air flow on the two sides of the entertainment center, maybe a door, maybe the way the air flows by your electronics. You have observed a difference in the rate that the candles burn, therefore there is a difference. Try switching the candles half way though the evening to maintain balance.
