Excessive absences, poor evaluations/unsatisfactory observations, founded corporal punishment allegations, or excessive need for colleague mediation usually come up. If a school has a specific code (this isn't public schools), and you violate that code, that would grounds but it would be explicitly written into your contract.

Check with your union/representative delegation. Even though what I mentioned can affect your return, some delegations (UFT, for example) require a one-year improvement period before you can be denied a contract. The rules are different in public, private, or charter schools.

All of the Above! Plus, if you do not have tenure or continuing contract, the principal doesn't even have to give a reason for not renewing your contract.

Probably a significant amount of complaints filed against that teacher, such as sexual harrassment complaints, would result in this kind of termination. Also, a history of negative evaluations. Things that fall into that persistent low-level problem category that would make an administrator want to "clean house."
