Open the picture from which you want to copy yourself. Carefully clear a "ring" around yourself by erasing any background, etc., until you can select just yourself (using the freehand slection or magic wand) from the picture. Select and copy yourself.

Go to the new picture and do a Paste as a new layer. Then you can move yourself around, resize if needed, delete any parts of yourself that you do not need to show on the finished picture, etc. Once you finally have yourself positioned just right, save the file.

Doing this is more "trial and error" then anything else. It can take a couple hours and a lot of work. There is no "easy" way to do it.

I use adobe photoshop CS - I'm not sure about the elements program.
However, I can recomend that you take a photo of yourself where the shadows in your picture match those of your friends.

You'll still have to adjust hue/light/etc....

The shadows though will help the realism.

My preference for cutting out an image is the Pen tool, and a lot of time. However, with hair involved - you'll be better off using the alpha channels if this is avaialvble in elements.

There is always the on line tutorial you can find on the Adobe website. There are classes in Photoshop you can find at some local community colleges. Yahoo Groups has local groups that can help you learn all about Photoshop, Elements or CS4. Just like photography, Photoshop is a process that takes time, formal education and experience. Most of us spend a few years learning the parts of Photoshop we need, certainly we can never learn it all.

You need to select the picture of you and copy it, then paste it into the other picture.
