Plain and Simple.. They just want us to dance, becuase it looks nice and we look like a nation not divided by race and equality... but just as if any other " black-man dancing" , we cant wait until or legs get broken or we miss a step so that theres something to laugh about. 40+ presidents away, and we are considered articulate and well spoken... 50+ presidents later, they'll figure some other polictican with the right word to say just to look like a " DIVERSE" American.

We are living a lie because we haven't had a black leader? I've stretched this question all over the place and the logic is not there. When we get a credible candidate we will have a minority leader. Until then, I refuse to to use Affirmative Action with the most powerful job in the world, just to quiet down some minorities.

Perhaps no viable black candidates have run for president?
Look, just because we haven't had a black or female president, that doesn't mean those particular traits make a candidate more electable. New isn't always better.
That said, if I thought a black or female candidate would make a good president, I would vote for him or her. I don't factor such trivial, irrelevant characteristics into my decision.

It was called segregation. But now it is possible and I am sure Obama will either be President or Vice President. Maybe since he has seen first hand the corruption in the system he will take control and lead the country in the right direction. He has my vote.

Nobody really answered the question correctly. We've already had a black president according to Toni Morrison. His name is Bill Clinton.

None have been elected. Jesse Jackson ran for President, but I don't think race was why he lost. I think it *might* have had a lot more to do with the fact that a lot of people - even black people - see him as a scheming opportunist who is only out for himself. Obama *might* have a chance, but many people see him as too inexperienced. That has *nothing* to do with race.
I don't support affirmative action at all, having been the "token female" at a job before, but I sure as hell don't support it in an ELECTED office.
Why don't you study your *** off in school and YOU can become a black President? No snarkiness intended, either.

Because we only have one president at a time. And currently he is a white dude from Massachusetts who pretends to be a cowboy.

White as rice? Oh you mean like Condi? Only a couple have ever ran. They didn't get elected. I know I know its all Bush's fault. He has the whole country under his spell and controls everything.

It's not about race. It's about qualifications. I'm not voting for someone BECAUSE they're black and we've never had a black president. THAT would be racist. When one runs for president and his views are closest to mine, then I'll vote for him.
