9x² - 25y²

(3x - 5y)(3x + 5y)

- - - - - - - - -

4x² + 4x - 15

The middle term is + 4x

Find the sum of the middle term

Multiply the first term 4 by the last term 15 equals 60 and factor

factors of 60

1 x 60
2 x 30
3 + 20
4 x 15
5 x 12
6 x 10. . .<=..use these factors

- 6 and + 10 satisfy the sum of the middle term

insert - 6x + 10x into the equation

4x² + 4x - 15

4x² - 6x + 10x - 15

2x( 2x - 3) + 5(2x - 3)

(2x + 5)(2x - 3)

- - - - - - - - - -s-

Ask here!

You won't get any guff if you make an attempt to do the problems, and then ask your question that is specific, as oposed to just typing your question out, listing your problems and then sitting back expecting everyone to jump on it and answer them for you.

I don't like doing someone's homework either....I do sometimes, and I probably shouldn't, but if the mood strikes me I do, but the point is, it IS irritating to see people do it. BUT if someone asks a pointed question and they are obviously confused or stressed, and are asking for help as opposed to 'us' doing it for them, then they will get answers and less negative feedback.

So....give us a go. Looks like someone started you off....so I'm just going to post this as it is.

1. (3x-5y)(3x+5y)
2.
3. 4x^2-10x+6x-15
2x(2x-5)+3(x-5)

9x^2-25y^2=(3x+5y)(3x-5y)
9x^2+48xy+64y^2=(3x+8y)^2
4x^2+4x-15=(2x+1)^2-(4)^2=(2x+5)(2x-3)

(3x-5y)(3x+5y)

(3x+8y)^2

4x^2+10x-6x-15
=2x(2x+5)-3(2x+5)
=(2x-3)(2x+5)
