I got my fuel pump replaced with a new one and nowmy car won't start
It wans to start but won't and the fule pump fuse is burnt out and I replaced the fuse and the car will start for a minute and then stop....
Is this the mechanics fault or what?

On modern cars it is CRUCIAL that the fuel pump is OEM.That means that it is supplied by the manufacturer of the vehicle.The fuel pumps sold at auto supply stores will usually fail soon or not work at all.Some auto parts stores sell AC Delco,which is OEM for GM cars,or Motorcraft,which is OEM for Fords.If you own a Japanese car,the only good place to buy a fuel pump is the dealership.Qualified mechanics are aware of this.

It sounds like either a bad new pump or a wiring problem. I doubt if it's anybodies fault, but take it back and let the mechanic check it out and fix it. Sometimes we think the problem is one thing, just because that is what it is 90% of the time, and then you have the other 10% when something weird is wrong. Good luck.
PS -- Sister in law had 4 fuel pumps put in a Focus before they figured out it was a fuel line in the tank that was causing the problem.

Could be a short in the electric line to fuel pump pull up the carpet in the trunk and look under the wires I had this problem on a Dodge Intrepid.

i do not imagine that to procure ripped off, thinking all upkeep are expensive. I guess that the quantity you payed there will be resembling different restore shops. The gas pump on my own prices round $260 in case you purchase one from checker. in case you elect you are able to call a vehicle dealership and ask how a lot it prices to replace a gas pump and sender.

You might have something clogging the fuel filter from replacing the pump. Restricting gas flow.

You have two choices. You can go on Yahoo! answers and ask a bunch of people who would have absolutely no idea, or you could take it back to the person who replaced the fuel pump in the first place and get it fixed.

Sounds like the mechanic did not do a correct fix. You need to have him fix it or find another garage. Sounds like the electrical circuit is not correct and its grounding out and blowing the fuse.
