I just heard about the passing of the mucus plug today, I'm pregnant with my 4th and never heard of it, I never expirienced water braking on my own, they always had to do it in the hospital, When I go into labor I take a real long time + most of the time I'm laying down so I dont see much.

N-E ways I'm 35 Weeks pregnant l want to know when the passing of the mucus plug occurs? How do I know? All I know is that is a covering of the cervix that keeps infections from entering the uterus or something like that. After I have the passing of mucus plug, can I have intercourse???

I have had 4 babies. The only time I noticed the mucous plug, which is also known as bloody show, was with my second child. It came out in a glob about 24 hours before he was born. The other 3, I lost the mucous plug gradually enough that I didn't notice or it came out with the delivery. Sometimes it will come out in globs and other times just small strings barely noticeable. Sometimes the mucous plug can come out early, especially if you are beginning to efface and dilate. It is a normal course of preparing for labor and does not necessarily mean that labor is imminent. You can continue to have sexual intercourse as long as your doctor permits it or until your water breaks. A helpful thing to do during slow labor is to walk. It is uncomfortable and can be very painful during contractions, but moving around can help labor progress faster.

It's common to your discharge to difference for the period of being pregnant. Some ladies have a heavier discharge than others. If you're particularly worried, point out it for your document. You might desire to ensure it isn't an contamination. But because it wasn't tinged with blood and you are now not cramping, it is both common discharge or an contamination. you must be simply great. On the turn facet, you do not regularly have discharge in early exertions. On my 3rd youngster I refused to visit the health center while I was once in exertions in view that I had no bloody exhibit (generally us pregnant ladies get slightly irrational). My husband eventually tricked me into the auto while my contractions have been three mintues aside. By the time we acquired to the health center I was once a 7, practically eight.

I have 2 kids myself and never saw the mucus plug pass.
The plug typically passes at the onset of labor, a few days to a week or so before birth. It is not suggested that you have intercourse after it passes.

It is a large amount of cervical mucus it can be tinged with blood and usually occurs anywhere from two weeks to right before labor begins.

You can have intercourse until your water breaks, or in active labor, but I don't think you would even be thinking of it while have contractions.

Its whats known as the 'show' in some countries.

It's just an extra barrier to avoid infection, when your cervix starts to efface then the plug becomes disloged. It's like a lump of mucus which may or may not have a little blood with it.

its the mucus plug coming out to start labor. Sometimes you dont notice it because it can come out when your going to the bathroom. Mine came out in my undies. The plug is there to block our infections so no sex after that happens. It just means your gonna go into labor or already in labor.

You didn't know the first 3 times so don't even worry about it. I don't believe you will be having intercourse at that time as your labor will begin. God bless the new baby!

A lot of women don't pass their plugs until well into active labor....so that's probably why you've never noticed it before.
