Im not a big drinker at all. But, I did get drunk a couple of nights ago and was very sick afterwards. Im now three days late on my period and was wondering what effects I could have had on my unborn child if i am pregnant. I would only be a couple of weeks pregnant if I am, but I know that drinking isnt healthy for babies. Do the effects of alcohol on babies increase as they grow bigger? I just hope i havent caused serious damage if i am pregant. I couldnt live with myself.

now that you know, you should stop. I drank wine almost the whole month of November and I found out I was 3 weeks prego on Dec 1st. Scared me, but certain days, certain things get developed...so it depends. As long as you stop now, you have a high chance of getting care to help baby get healthy.

I wouldn't worry about it because most women don't find out that they are pregnant until they are at least 4-5 weeks along and you know they have had some alcoholic drinks during that time. What is most important is from today forward. If you think you are pregnant, no alcohol/drugs/smoking. Wait another week and then take a test. Good Luck.

I hope so too. In my case, I didn't know I was pregnant for the first 3 months! Unfortunately, I drank during that time. I had no idea I was pregnant. I did have a premature baby, but she is a healthy toddler now, with no developmental issues. She is happy and adorable and very talkative and smart. So, don't worry! Just do the best you can now to take good care of yourself now.

Read this very important article about nutrition during early pregnancy. It will scare you sober for sure!

if you just drank that once then I'm sure your baby is fine. i drank a week before my period was supposed to come and then i found out i was pregnant. and some doctors tell the women if they have heart burn real bad to drink a glass of read wine a day and it does not hurt the baby. plus the bible says it's okay for a pregnant women to drink a glass a day of wine so i wouldn't worry to much.

I was 20 when I got pregnant. For my 21 birthday my Friends decided to take me out for my first drink. I did drink and had a hang over. I was two months pregnant when I drank. I had a perfectly normal son. He's quite smart for his age.

Your fine, I drank for the first three months of my pregnancy not knowing I was pregnant! My daugher is perfect. The Fetal alcohol syndrome usually only affects babies born to mothers that drank throughout the entire pregnancy. One time is not going to do harm.

Relax. It's a mistake made quite often by women who don't know they're pregnant yet. Give yourself a break, you have done no harm to a fetus by drinking on one occasion. Now break out that pregnancy test and cross your fingers! Good luck.

i don't know for sure about the affects on baby that early, but i do know that i had a couple of "binge" nights before i found out i was pregnant with both of my sons. they both turned out perfectly normal (as normal as boys can be!!). don't panic. the stress can do more harm than the one night of drinking.

good luck!
