Me and my daughter was giving the baby a bath and I thought I heard something and it was too early for my husband to be home. I told my daughter I thought he was home and to go see. Was I wrong for asking a 9 year old to go see what the noise was?

Uh, no. It would have been wrong to leave the baby in the bath with the 9 yr. old to watch it. What other options did u have?

Well you did have your hands full at the time. Maybe it would have been best to just hurry with the baby's bath, throw a towel around him and have him and your daughter stay in one of their bedrooms while you go check to see what the noise could have been. But, don't feel guilty for sending her, obviously it wasn't anything or anyone harmful but maybe next time you may want to just check it out yourself.

What a world we must live in,what a frightening time,when a Mother has to be afraid to send her daughter to investigate a noise in their own home.I'm sure when you sent her you had no bad thoughts about what the noise may be,then in a flash,those bad pictures came into your mind,and you started to worry.You committed no wrong.

I see where you are coming from (maybe). Maybe you figure that if an intruder was the cause of that noise, they would not shoot a little girl. They might shoot you though because they see you as a potential risk.
Did I interpret this correctly? If not, sorry about the assumptions.

Uhh... If you would have gone, then the baby would have been alone with the kid. Something horrible could have happened.
One the other hand, there could have been an intruder.
There is no right answer, only gut feeling. Trust your gut is what you did, and everything is fine.

Not really..... It is a touchy subject, but you were thinking it was your husband, so it was honest. Not like you were scared to go look for yourself, and besides it would have been wrong to leave he nine year old with the baby...... Its alright.

not really you should have definitely stayed with the infant in the bath because that is much more dangerous your daughter could have run if it was a stranger

tricky, all your options were, you could have left her supervising the baby in the bath, big responsiblity. you could have lifted the baby and took it with you, bit dangerous possibly, or like you did, ask her to go, also risky
