This might be a tad tmi, but I'm 17 wks pregnant w/my second baby. It hurts so bad when my husband & I have sex. I am in tears by the end...I remember having a little discomfort last pregnancy, but never this much. I'm waiting for the doctor to call back, but in the mean time...does anyone have any input? Is this normal or is something wrong?

The pain is up the side of my stomach and a stabbing pain right inside of my hip bones/along my pelvic bone (?) does that help?

I had it through both of my pregnancies. A 9 months after giving birth it still hurt a lot and I had laproscopy and found out that the ligament holding the right side of my uterus was stretched and loose. It was pulled early in my first pregnancy and was at 9 months pregnant stretched a the time of my surgery. It hurt all through my second pregnancy (a couple weeks after surgery I got prego), after the birth of my second when my uterus went back to normal size so did the ligament.

A lot of women experience painful intercourse during pregnancy it can be a variety of reason, tell the doctor al of the pain you are feeling and do get checked out.

can you describe the pain a little more please? alot of changes happen to your body when pregnant and some of these can make sex a little uncomfortable. For example, dryness can be a problem, or the increased bloodflow and swellin of the membranes can make the area more senstive. It should not be incredibly painful though, I would speak to your doctor, more for your own comfort though because it doesn't sound like a problem with the baby (unless the pain you are having is cramps since sometimes sex can cause contractions, if you are feeling severe contractions after sex you need to go in to your doctor)

Well, obviously if you're in pain, that is your body's way of telling you something is wrong. Maybe the way your cervix is situated? Go to a good OB/GYN who specialized in pelvic pain. Pregnancy changes your body, so whatever changes are going on in there are for some reason mis-aligning your pelvis or something, or maybe you have some inflammation, or who knows what!

Don't have sex if it hurts. It's not good for you, and your body will "remember" the pain and you'll wind up with all kinds of unpleasant things, like nerve damage and muscle spasms. It happened to me!

I found it uncomfortable too. So our solution was: I was on top or in other positions that took the pressure off my insides... get my drift??? like on my hands and knees. And he also let me control it... it didn't hurt so much after that.

With my first pregnancy I didn't have sex at all... most of you are thinking I am crazy, how did I keep my hubby happy... he was at fire academy for 5 months. That's how.

I'd wait to har back from the dr, but you could be just carrying this baby differently and that could be part of the problem. I found that during pregnancy there were just some positions that we could not use.

it's quite possible that baby is sitting different this time. since you are already talking to your doc about it, i would suggest you try different positions.

good luck, and congrats!!
