Hi there. I would really recommend Honey Gouramis. They aren't all that colourful, mine are a kind of yellowish orange with darker highlights. BUT they have a beautiful shape, and are just sooo adorable. They also seem really intelligent, and always come to the front of the tank when I come in the room. When I put my hand in the tank, they will kiss my fingers and swim between them. They are my faves.

Also, I have a phantom tetra (I plan to get more when I get a bigger tank). It's a really attractive fish,

I also have wild green neon tetra. I prefer them to the regular tetra, as I think they look much sweeter, and being so small, you can keep a larger school of them. Plus their colour is just amazing, a greeny blue, neon stripe, with far less of the blood red underbelly seen on regular neon tetras

I also have a couple of platy. Many people see them as fairly dull tropical fish. I couldn't agree less! I absolutely adore mine. They swim in the most amazing way, with their tails wagging, and shark like movements. Like the gourami, my plattys are always eager to respond to my prescence, and My fave fish out of them all is my bright orange platty, who ALWAYS comes to the front of the tank when I put my face up to it. I think platys have such great little personalities, and are all so unique. My green platy is far more shy, and seems to hide when I come in the room! Plus, they are available in such an amazing variety of colours, and very easy to breed.

May I also reccomend Japonica shrimp?
They have done a great job of keeping algea under control in my tank, and are so lively and fun to observe. I was so upset when, after a few days, I thought one of them had died. It turnt out I had just seen its shedded skin! They never fail to amuse me, and often climb aboard the larger fishes backs for a ride. (So hilarious!)

Anyway, I'd better stop there. Hope i've been of help, and good luck with your lovely fishes!

Since you say tropical fish then I assume there is no goldfish in your tank because goldfish is cold water fish and should not be kept with other tropical fish. Do not keep tiger barbs with other fish too because they are fiercer. Neon Tetras can be kept with guppies and small-sized platies. Nothing bigger than small-sized platies should be kept with Neon Tetras and guppies. Swordtail, platies and molly can live together.

We can make much more meaningful suggestions if you will add your tank size and what fish you already have.
