Try "Valhalla Rising" or "Sahara"
they are all pretty good, but after a while, it seems kinda like McGyver: no matter what, Dirk and Al will save they day and narrowly escape death all while smoking a cigar on his way back to the room with a beautiful woman ...

They get to be much the same after a while -- and Clive Cussler has the annoying habit of introducing himself into his novels. Now he is co-writing with his son, Dirk (yep - he named the kid after the hero he created) and it's like Dad has outlined the story and the kid fills in the blanks.

I very much enjoyed Trojan Odyssey and Inca Gold.

They are very much all the same though, so it really doesn't matter what order you read them in. You can always just start at the first one and read your way though them.

On a sidenote - Clive Cussler named his character after his son, not the other way around.

Trojan Odyssey. It suggest that Troy was really in England and he makes a convincing case for it. Like all his books there is history and fiction mixed together, it's just that this one has far more connection to real history that we have all studied.
