I hear you. Why don't they just make a public apology in front of news reporters and be done with it? I think a person having to go to Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton and apologize is ridiculous for the simple fact that they are only 2 people and they were not the ones insulted in the first place. If I said something bad about an all white team or something, there would be no discussion whatsoever about apologizing to the world instead of the people I insulted. When you insult specific people, no matter what their color, those are the only people who are owed an apology - not the entire world!

That is a good point. There are plenty of black people who do not think that either Mr. Jackson or Mr. Sharpton speaks for them.

nappy headed 'ho here:
1. Al Sharpton does not have a talk show.
2. Jessee Jackson does not have a talk show.
3. "Everytime" a white man makes a mistake. "Anytime" ?
4. If you didn't make so many mistakes....
5. No one would be able to play the race card if White Men didn't put it in the deck.
6. Race is the white mans game. Sometimes you have to sit on the bench; or you can take your balls and go home.

A mistake? Most of the people who go on shows for saying or doing something racist or wrong didn't make a mistake, they got caught showing their true feelings. There is no mistake in that. Why apologize for something you mean or a way you actually feel? If you are a racist, be a racist. Don't offer a lame apology.

well you have a point. I hate to be categorized with anyone. I think bak in the days, they were pretty much embraced but I do not need anyone to speak for me*

I don't know but I do know what you are talking about and I think it all stinks...If he had a slip of the tongue then its just that and he apologized for his wrong doing and that should be it...but they can't let it go because they like to run on hysterics!

I have heard racial slurs on Y/A and this should not be considered a racist question. I am responding to the question posted against this one.

Those two are the most "insecure" people I've ever seen or heard, they bring their "inferiority complex" up whenever they don't agree with someone or something.......they really like to dish "it" out, but can't take "it".........biggest racists ever!!!!!

I think Sharpton is an idiot but he got this one right. What that Imus ****** said about those girls should get him banned from ever working in media again. I could be fired from my workplace for saying things like that, and rightly so.
