Hank Aaron - No steroids involved, just amazing will and tenacity.

David Ortiz - Extremely clutch hitter, whereas the other two haven't proven much in that way.

Manny Ramirez - The guy's been one of the elite hitters in the game when Ichiro was still slapping singles in Japan.

Carl Crawford - If this kid ever plays for a contender, people will see how good he really is. Speed and some power, very solid.

Babe Ruth - Sorry, I have to disagree with you here. While I'll admit that Ted had a much better APPROACH to hitting, you can't question Ruth's results. Additionally, Ruth won a ton of games as a pitcher. 100 wins + 714 homers? That's amazing.

Shoeless Joe - This guy got such a bum rap for the black sox scandal, and was a truley dominant 5-tool player who history has decided to forget. Sadly enough, I think he batted something like .438 in the series that he supposedly 'helped throw'. I wish A-Rod would try to throw a playoff series by hitting .438.

Depends on what you define as better, more complete, better teammate, better human?

Bonds was more of an all-round player (pre-steroids) 500 Hr/500 SB, gold gloves (most of which were earned)

Travis Hafner (Ortiz had a number of poor years before hitting the boom in Boston)

Ichiro is all about contact and speed, Ramirez is about power and driving in runs. In Roto, I want Ramirez, as the GM, I want Ichiro.

Crawford or Reed Johnson? ???? I live in Toronto and am mystified that Reed Johnson is the comparitive for Crawford. Crawford is 5x the player (at least) that Johnson is.

Ruth compares favourably to every player in history when comparing him to his peers.

Pete Rose, despite being the all-time hits leader really wasn't anything that special. Yes, he was passionate, yes, he 'hustled', but didn't really have great skills. He has the all-time hit record because he was the manager of the team and played till he was 45. Based on skill alone, he would have fallen several hundred hits short. He had no power, no speed. His career average was .303, Ty Cobbs was .367. Joe Jackson, was better compared to his peers than Rose was.

Aaron is the best. The guy is a worked and didnt cheat. (unlike bonds)
I hate to say it but Ortiz is the best DH out of the bunch
I would rather have Ichiro. he plays hard. Gets the job done. Gold Glove and no head games.
Crawford and there is no question about that. Crawford has more speed more power and just all toegether better
Ruth is the god of baseball. The guy re invented the home run and basicly held almost every record at one point and secondly Pitched more Shut outs then Pedro Martinez.
Lastly Pete Rose is the best hitter. He has more hits then anyone ever will get and his hitting streak will never be broken.
