There are some soaps that resulted in UTI and yeast infections for my wife.
Did the soap cause it?
I don't know. But EVERY time a harsher soap was used, she would develop problems.
Zest and Lever were the worst. Dove seems to be fine.

In the vagina, there is a delicate balance of naturally occuring bacteria. When there is a hormone imbalance or when using antibacterial products, that balance can be thrown off and one type of bacteria will become more prevalent than it should be. That is the "infection". Usually, there will be an unpleasant smell, a discharge and possibly some itching.
Not all soaps are antibacterial. Most soaps just smell nice and make your skin smell nice too. However, you should use just water to clean your genitals for a few days. If the natural balance is not restored, you may have to visit the doctor for medication to help you.

Yes, it can cause Vaginitis... Vaginitis is often caused by an infection, but it may also be caused by a reaction to vaginal products such as soap, bath oils, spermicidal jelly, or douches. Vaginitis may cause symptoms such as vaginal itching, pain, or discharge.
I was told by my OB/GYN is use only Dove Unscented soap to clean my feminine parts...

Yes it can. It disturbs the natural balance and causes irritation. It can further lead to a sort of domino effect that will make you miserable with itching and burning. Something mild is recommended.

YES. And so do those "feminine products like sprays for feminineodors. They throw off the ph balance in your vaginal area causing discharge and leading to infection.

any soap is antibacterial. That is part of our contract with soap. There is no soap brand that is not antibacterial. It is just a marketing tool to say that on a package so that people will pick that brand.
