Most maternity clothes are made based on your pre-pregnancy size. Smalls are generally 4-6, mediums are normally 8-10, and larges are generally 12-14. Some will tell you what trimesters they are intended for - since you're only going to where these clothes while your pregnant, get something that is intended for all three trimesters or at least the second and third. Most pants with the panel have buttons & and elastic with button holes inside so you can cinch it up tighter earlier in pregnancy and let it out as you need to. Hope this helps some.

It depends on the retailer, B4 Pregnancy i was a size 0-2.. i got cloths at Gap, old navy in a size 2(maternity) and was able to wear them till about month 6-7...then i moved up to a size 6 from those brands...
Liz lange at target i went from a size 2 to a 10...
now at 39 weeks nothing fits....
motherhood maternity pants run a little big, and their shirts shrink..
hope this helps.

You wear the same size as you usually wear. Mat clothes are designed to allow for the growing tummy. They will fit properly throughout your pregnancy.
Get at least one outfit from a store that specializes in mat clothes and then you will have a good idea of what to look for, as the sales clerks will be helpful. Then you can get other things at department stores or discount stores or whatever you can afford. Usually someone of your friends or family has some clothes to pass on.

You wear the same size you did pre pregnancy. So if you wore a medium before then you get a medium at the maternity store. And yes it'll still fit all the way through pregnancy. The clothes are designed that way. =)

Most places yes, you would pick the size you normally wear. Most of the clothes will fit through the entire pregnancy once you start to show if you are gaining the right amount.
Good luck!!

Here's the thing. Dads are getting maternity leaves - actually called paternity leaves - as well as mom nowadays, so the likelyhood is that BOTH could be gone for a period of time and require temporary replacement. So it seems it's going to come down to whom you seem to be most comfortable with, all else being equal.

Usually, you can stay with the same size you already wear, however, since you don't know how much you will gain it might be safer to get the next size larger. After 36 weeks, nothing fits anyway.

Everyone is different & all the makes are diff. too. It's a bit of a pain. Some pants I can fit a Medium, but most are larges. & trust me....you WANT to have room 'cause your butt, hips, & tummy grow...try to hold off buying as long as possible. I wore my work out pants, or just unbuttoned my regular pants for a while to save $.

Depending on your size now really doesn't matter. When you choose maternity clothes, always allow for growth of the baby. Try on things but always allow for plenty of room for the little one.

Try them on in a fitting room. Pick what fits closest now (nothing that droops when it's pants)- you can be on the baggy end for shirts, so long as it looks ok. When or if your tummy outgrows, then buy up. You can look for pants that adjust as you grow, too.
