I am 11 wks pregnant. I am also a diabetic. I found out not to long ago at 9 wks that I was expecting. I do not have diabetes in the case that I have to take insulin. My doctor says that since it's early, the baby should be okay and if I continue to watch what I eat and take care of myself, my baby should not have diabetes. But I know that from the time of conception, everything that enters the body goes to the baby. I'm a little worried. Can someone please tell me what they think?

No your baby will not get diabetes just cause you have it. My Aunty had diabetes and her baby girl don't have it at all. I had gestational diabetes and my daughter didn't get it. You have to give it some time though because you won't ever know until the baby is born. Try not to worry about it that much and concentrate on your pregnancy and enjoy it honey. Well in my experience not all babies can get diabetes if the mom has diabetes, becuase when my mother was pregnant with me she was diagnosed with diabetes as well and I don't have it.....so I guess it just all depends on the type of diabetes you have

Early on in the pregnancy there is not much interaction with the things you put in your body and your baby because the placenta hasn't really formed yet. You shouldn't worry about it, everything should be ok!
