Hi, I am pursuing Master's in Computer Science.
I have been accpeted by Columbia University,New York and by UNC Chapell Hill. Which do you think should I choose.
Please consider the following :
(1)quality of education
(2)reputation and job prospects
(3)Cost of living + studying (In NY I will be staying at relative's house. so living expense is nil)
(4)your point of view on which is a better place to live in
Thanks a million.

Although UNC is a pretty good school (which unfortunately has to stand in the shadow of its world famous neighbor, Duke) still, it doesn begin to compare in reputation with Columbia. Columbia is one of the great universities of the world. It has had many graduates and faculty who have won Nobel prizes and other distinctions, and it is in New York which is a fabulous place for a young person to live.

Although I would vote for UNC over many other schools, in this case, I don't think this is really a choice. You have to pick Columbia.

I can only answer #4 with any intelligence: Chapel Hill is a lovely place to go to school, to live and to work. North Carolina in general has been a pleasant surprise since we moved here 2 years ago from PA: weather is great, job prospects for technical jobs are wide open (Charlotte is a huge banking and finance center), the people are nice and you can't go wrong with UNCCH (oh, yeah, there's this thing about basketball in March...ya gotta see it to believe it!)

it really is a no-brainer in the adventure that your lengthy island residing rate is largely no longer something. U of ill isn't as sturdy as UNC. and also you imagine Columbia is better functional than UNC. So, Ivy League college vs. a school worse than one you've already rejected as inferior......
