I just quit smoking, have been smoke free for 12 days now, not a long time but it's a start.
I always exercise have very run around all day type job.
i was also 5 pounds underweight before i quit.
Now i can't stop eating i gained like 5 pounds already in 2weeks and easter didn't help the situation as even though i 've always ate healthy and didn't care too much for sweets i can never stay away from the Peeps lol or marshmallow eggs.
Is my body ever gonna feel normal and energetic again or did i get rid of one addiction for a new one for sweets! :-(
Little over share but gotta add the fact i've also been constipated since i started (i'm sorry for adding that..but i want to know if that's a factor with losing weight) i'm so uncomfortable and want a cigarette!!!! My teeth are white again and i don't want to give up.
So any tips for me or past experiences will be appreciated!!!

You are just channeling the energy you want to put into smoking into eating. You need to find a better outlet for that energy. Try chewing gum or drinking lots of water. Or take up another hobby to do when you are hungry. It's really just the urge to put something in your mouth.
You are likely constipated because of your change in diet. Go back to eating healthy foods and you'll be fine. Use the same willpower you use to not smoke to not overeat.

since you smoke that much everyday, your body got adjusted having these poisons running ur body. That's why people with more serious drug problems can actually die by quiting abruptly. You hav to take decrease your amount of cigarettes maybe every few weeks or whatever you're comfortable with. The reason why you were coughing and stuff (tryign to not smoke) was because your body was so used to having 2-5 cigarettes a day. So each week you should decrease slowly from 2-4cigarettes, then another few weeks, 2-3, then so on.

You see all the good things you just listed,
aren't they more woth it than a cigarette.
Just everytime you have a craving, go through the list of WHY your quitting.
I know you can be stronger than the nicotine. It'll take about a month, and then the physical addiction is over for the most part, the rest is mental.
And YES you will get your energy back, I'm underwieght too, and my doctor told me to help with energies, instead of eating three meals a day.
eat 5 or 6 smaller meals.
And i do have more energy, try it and see if it works for you.
I believe you can do this, now you need to beielve.
Blessed Be

Congratulations.
I quit June 1991. It was the best thing I ever did. I have only just quit biting my nails though.
When I felt that I really needed a cigarette I went for a drive. I never smoked in the car. I know this sounds naff but I also took up cross stitching. You can't smoke and use a needle. It worked for me and I have a fantastic sampler of my home and family.

It's normal to gain weight when you quit smoking. Just try to make sure any snacks you are going to eat are healthy for you. Drink lots of water too. I quit smoking the day I got pregnant, and I ended up gaining 80 lbs with my pregnancy, I dont know how much of that was because of smoking and how much was because I was pregnant, but if I could do it over I would have been sure to keep track of my snacking before it got out of hand.
Contact your dr and ask them for advice to make it easier

I chew nicotine gum and I have not smoked in a couple weeks. It is replacing one addiction with another (I chew a lot of gum) but I feel better and it does not cost as much.
The last time I quit I replaced it with sex (ooooohhhh) but once that was over I started back up. You have to be careful.

No. You will feel normal again, and you'll feel even healthier. It's very early for you. When I quit smoking I chewed lots of gum. I chewed and chewed until my jaws hurt. But it kept me from eating too much. Drink lots of water, chew gum, and stay away from people who smoke. Good luck. You're doing the BEST thing for your health.

Congratulations on your goal. The trick is to take each day. Maybe you should try eating raisins and dried cranberries for the overshare thing. They are just as sweet as candy and give lots of energy.
