This could be caused by many things. First off, he may not be drinking enough water and getting adequately hydrate. The clearer urine is, the better because this means you are getting adequate hydration. If it appears more yellow in color, the body needs more water. The more yellow the urine, the more concentrated it is therefore it is smellier. Another cause could perhaps be a urinary tract or kidney infection. I wouldn't take my word for it though, I'm not a doctor. If this is a cause for concern for you, you should definitely take your son to the doctor for a urine test/analysis. This can be done at a regular family physician.

Its not a big problem.Urine smells because of the aromatic substances excreted .The herbal food additives like ginger, garlic, mint, medicine and concentrated urine in summer also smells odd.
If it recurs consult a doctor and go for urine examination which will rule out anxiety.
Don't worry!

Sometimes it has to be with a high level of proteins digested.
Try to remember if that happened in one day that he had eaten a lot of protein during the day, like meat, fish, eggs or tuna fish..., more than he is used to. That´s named "acetone", it causes a strong smell in the urine.

Maybe he's drinking too many sodas and not enough water. Have him drink cranberry juice and mix it with 7up or sprite if u want. Plenty of water always helps to clean out the kidneys! If that doesn't help then see a doctor because he could have a bladder or kidney infection.

different foods can scent it. If he is having no discomfort, it may not be a problem. Be careful with too much juice, juices are acidic and can damage or destroy young teeth.
