I'm talking facially//appearance wise.
I am really good at telling Chinese from Korean. And Chinese from Japanese. But I can't ever tell Japanese from Korean.
I just recently found out that Verbal from the japanese duo m-flo was Korean and not Japanese.

I'm full Korean. And I think that the main differences between korean and japanese is our height. I'm 14 and am only 5 foot.

Also, our eye shape is different. Koreans normally have slantier eyes than Japan. But I, however, am a living example of someone who makes that whole 'Koreans have really slanty eyes' things not true. Like I said, I'm full Korean, and yet my eyes aren't that slanty compared to the average Korean.

I can sometimes but not always. I even know people of other races who have trouble with identifying not only Asians, but other races too, even if it's the same race as their own. Why? Because genetics. Genetics can make people look different than they seem to be. I've seen a white-colored guy who was half black(race-wise). I've seen a dark girl who was white(race-wise). My best friend is full Asian yet lots of people guess it wrong. Genetics are weird things, so basically, to answer your questions. Yes some people can guess correctly and some can't. It can be very tricky, depending on what gene colors and features their family carries, regardless of race.

hi dear , here i m fully solving ur problem b-caz u r my friend.firstly the whole asian races are divided into three parts.(i)mangols{chinese, japanese&napalese}(ii)Aryans{south indians,bengalis,pakistanis,vietnamese,srilankan}(iii)mixmangolo-arya{koreans,malaysians,thais,some-japanese also}.you can identify all of them by the make of their noses.very simple if their nose is flatted then they belongs to mangols but there is a minor difference between japanese & korean that is their hieght the japanese are tall in the compare of koreans.

I can kinda tell Koreans from other east asians facially but unfortunately I can't put my finger on what gives them away. But really, I differentiate best by accent.
