Hi to all,

I am 35 weeks pregnant and started having real bad sharp pain in my growing area. At first I didn't pay no mind to it but now is like every day and so many times during the day. I have have been pregnant before but never ever experienced anything like this? Would this be considered contractions. sometimes the pain is so severe I can't walk, I have to stop whatever I am doing and breath. I can be sitting down or even sleeping and al the sudden I have that pain. I am so scared my water might break do to this strange pain. Is anyone else having this kind of problem out their? please let me know.

If it's ongoing, see your OB. I had sharp pains around 36 weeks, as my baby started "dropping" somewhat. But that pain only lasted 1 or 2 days, as I recall. I'd go get checked out by the OB if I were you, just to be safe.

Gosh the joys of pregnancy lol. This is info I just found: Vaginal pain Some women occasionally feel a sharp, stabbing pain inside the vagina during late pregnancy. This is probably linked to the cervix starting to dilate, which can happen weeks, days or hours before labor begins. It is usually nothing to be concerned about, but tell your doctor if it causes a great deal of discomfort. Any severe pain in the lower abdomen or associated vaginal bleeding should be reported to your doctor right away. So all normal hun, just sounds like labor is iminent. Good luck hun and congrats.

I have that pain a lot, like i'll be walking and have to stop b/c it feels like i'm being stabbed or something but i just figured it was my cervix dilating. I am 38 weeks and have been dilated to 4 cm for three weeks now and two weeks before that was at 3 cm, so maybe your just starting to dilate sooner with this one than your first. i didn't have this feeling with my first either (that i can recall) but I was dilated to only 1 at 35 weeks and then delivered at 37 weeks, so i wasn't walking around like this either.

Slight pain is ok, but if you're having severe pain, go see your doctor. Good luck with your baby!

I had like knife stabbing pains like in my cervix........it was just my body getting ready to have the baby. I didn't have them with my first pregnancy either.
