How do I completely factor 64x^2-49??? Is it prime?

The way that you would factor this problem is by looking at the first term in the equation and the ending term of the equation along with the sign. In this case your first term is 64 and the last term is -49. Now what you want to do is find the factors both terms. Factors for 64 are 8 x8 ; 32 x 2 ; 16 x 4; and 64 x 1. The factors for -49 are -7 x7; and -49 x 1. The answer is (8x -7)(8x+7).
