My mother in law has a lovely yard - in ground pool, nice flower beds and a very thorough underground transit system for moles. Unfortunately, "Underground Mole Transit System" doesn't read well on a listing for a house for sale (not that she's selling her house). How can we get rid of these little buggers. I think she's tried traps, chemicals, sonic repellents, juicy fruit gum, spraying for grubs... just about everything short of blowing up the whole yard and starting new... and I think she's getting close to considering that option.

Any ideas?

The radio trick that Susie Homemaker mentioned is a good one.... and it worked for my dad.

But I've used "Mole Chaser Juice" and it worked well too....

Moles HATE Tabasco Sauce!!

To mix up a batch of Mole Chaser Juice :
1+1/2 Tbsp. of Tabasco Sauce
1 Tbsp of liquid dish soap
1 tsp. of chilli powder
1 Qt. of water
(I triple the recipe, because I've got a big yard)

Simply pour this tonic in mole runways ... They hate the smell of it it.

Or, you can also soak old rags in ammonia, and place down their holes ( you may need to do this everywhere the mole has surfaced.)

I hope this helps....

what kind of sonic repellants did you use? i heard that putting a small radio in the hole and crankin the volume will drive them out. (you may have to do this for days, though)
