I have recently bought a 3 year old Paint Mare that continues to chase our young cattle. We have never had any horses do this over and over like she continues to do. Does anyone have any ideas on what we can do?

I would suggest moving her and keeping her seperated from the cattle, if you do not want her herding them... If she isn't a good match for you cowey horses are very valuable to cutters, ranchers, ropers, and team penning riders :-) GOOD LUCK!

Either she was trained to do this for certain Western events (previously stated), or this could just be instinct. I have heard of Quarter Horses doing this naturally (whether that is true or not, I am unsure). Keep them separated as best as possible, especially in turnout. I don't know how your farm is set-up, but maybe have them on opposite sides?

Find out if she was trained for cutting and if she continues to do so you might just have to keep her away from cows until she learns not to chase them.

a short lead and a loud bell, might help, the bell is to warn the cattle.
