I am Italian although I was born in this country. I can only tell you that the U.S has many Italian communities and Italians are just one of many great cultures and communities represented by the U.S.
I don't really see you having any problems as an Italian per se, just continue to work on your English, which is pretty good already, and get to know your neighbors when you get here.
Best of Luck to you.

You would like to know what we LACK about our knowledge of Italians.

We don't know enough about the fine wines that come from Italy. How they are underrated and under-appreciated.

We don't know enough about Laura Pausini, but she did relase ONE English CD in November of 2005 on the Atlantic label.

We don't remember that Yassir Arrafat's first act of terrorism against the world was his attack of the Italian cruise ship, the Achille Laurel, and pushed an innocent, elderly jew into the ocean in his wheelchair. rot, pig.

WE don't know what a beautiful, economical vacation we could have if we just flew to Roma.. and opened our hearts and smiled and received a thousand smiles in return...

It's great to have mix-blood! Just like I do!
But the disadvantage is we are not treated the same way they treat a pure american or pure italian blood!Who cares? We are unique and we are rare!I think it's a special combination, 'though!

All people are people. They are all cool! I personally think Italians are really great because of where they live and what they eat and things like that. But that's me. All people are cool in their own way.

Italaian is a great language as well!
