I respect your desire to get involved. THAT is what will end the war.
It will take not just your desire, but that of every human being. Wars only occur because we as a people allow them to. People decide that it's not their problem. Or that they couldn't stop it if they tried. Or that the war is a good thing and should even be preserved.
But think about it - what allows a hostage situation to occur? It can only be that the hostages allow themselves to be pushed into that role. If the hostages instead chose to leave, they would all be freed, either by death or their own actions.
So it goes with war. War happens because people will fight for it but not against it. When everyone would rather die than fight, then it will not only be impossible for war to occur, but for it to succeed even if it should occur.
War requires cooperative survivors. Do not cooperate, and you cannot have a war. You are ALREADY helping.

Yes aniahlate everything. If you want world peace, then a world can't not exist.
What makes you think that you or any of us individuals are powerful and important enough to be responsible for everyone else's suffering? People are born in to different circumstances in life and most of them make the best out of it, and the ones who don't die. So don't worry about it. You say Charity is not the answer, correct so why worry about what someone else doesn't have if you don't believe in giving them the means to get what you have. You say "we" have to get dirty, why can't those people get work as well?
As far as the whole kids and women dieing, People die get used to it. It's funny how people complain about "innocent" people being killed in war. I have one thing to say to those people: IT'S WAR!! You go out and fight in oh let's say Iraq, where they are using WOMEN and KIDS to kill soldiers, and then sit there and tell me you feel bad for some of them having to be killed.

War would only give a momentary peace. The scattered survivors would reorganize and start again. Repeating all the old mistakes and committing the same errors until they too stand at the brink of destruction. The best way to bring peace is to scatter all the dissidents across the stars. When only the weak and servile remain upon earth, man shall at last know universal peace.

Total all out world war is not the way to peace. Even if the entire world was united under a single banner, there would still be revolts and rebellions everywhere. Sooner or later, the single nation would break up. Force cannot be used to bring the minds of people together.
The only way to peace is mutual understanding. We should forget our differences and learn to appreciate others' thoughts and aspirations. We must not be concerned only about ourselves and our living. We must be genuinely concerned about others' problems and try to help them.
One of the world's greatest thinkers, Albert Einstein said, "A person starts to live when he can live outside himself."
You seem to be asking what we can do about this. First of all, we ourselves should exhibit mutual understanding and spread the message of love. Sooner or later, others will see us and follow in our footsteps.

When you focus on war, you get more war. When you fight something you are putting attention on what you don't want and therefore you attract more of it.
Everyone has to live out their own journey. We are all attracting all of our life experiences to ourselves, all the time, individually and collectively. If you want to attract peace and prosperity and health for others, start with yourself and then join like-minded people who will help you do this collectively as well. You can't help everyone. You can't do everything for everyone for that usurps their own personal power.
War is never the way to peace. It only brings more war, more strife, more misery. Focus on peace to get more peace.

To answer your question, "Is total all out world war the way to peace?" Yes - once everyone is DEAD, there will be no more war. Til then, think of it as the evening news, no matter what channel you switch too, the news will still be happening.......even if your TV is turned off.
There is no one great effort, by any one person that will change the world. But one kind act to a person who least expects it can change someones life.

Read the Augustine's take on war as a path to peace in "City of God", particularly, the first ten books. You can create a wasteland and call it peace, but it is still just a wasteland called peace.

Too many competing memebrs and groups of one species will create war.
War will decimate population, leaving less competitive circumstances.
War is the answer.
But countme out, b/c I'm just a peace-loving hippie girl who wants to go to Switzerland.
OK, Whatever, I actually have a busted shoulder and hip... I may say something else if I were a healthy male capable of being drafted, you dig?
But my brain says, war is the way.
Philosophically, I'm pragmatic.

The only guaranteed method for achieving world peace is utter annihilation of the human race. As long as there are people, there will be wars.
