In computer lingo, all caps is noted as referring to yelling. There is no way to convey yelling on the computer very well, so caps is used to convey this. If you know the person you are talking to well, you can tell whether they are yelling or not even if they never/always use caps. I have a friend who often forgets to turn off the caps, and I don't have a problem with it. Mispelling is acceptable as long as evry wrdd iss nott speld increctly. The occassional mistake can be accepted, but frequent mispelling shows that the person either doesn't know how to spell, they don't care, or their typing skills are very poor. Any one of the aforementioned options are poor excuses, but what can you do? To each their own!

According to the Internet Rules, writing all in capitals is considered yelling and unpolite.

As far as the spelling mistakes, I agree with you. Sometimes people types very fast and it comes mispelled and normally they are badly attacked because of it.

LOL

It is hard on the eyes and "implies" rudeness.

Mother in law didn't like what I had to say on e-mail, she responded not only in caps, but the font size was about a 20!
LOL. Ouch!

Yelling is screaming noisily - capital letters is very "noisy" on the eyes, is difficult to read and, quite frankly, annoying!

So it actually is the equivalent of screaming.
