Detergents are made in a way that they do not suds very much. It is very hard on the sewer system. The clothes will get clean anyway if you follow the instructions. (I have found liquid Cheer fits my needs best.) We have to go with the flow!

Come on now, are you really that naive? Laundry soap is designed for low sudsing, so it doesn't overflow or cause drainage problems, or problems rinsing out of the clothes. The detergent loosens the soil and soil floats to the top, soils are drained and rinse-spun out as well as deep rinsed.

Back in the 1960's they had a problem with lakes and streams sudsing up because manufacturers were putting too much phosphorous in laundry detergent, so this practice was discontinued. We have the careless gluttony and disregard of our parents to thank for all the ecologocial problems we have today.

However, if you really want suds, use dishwashing liquid in your clothes washer
