Cut off the top of the pineapple leaving about 1/2 inch of the fruit. This leaves you a flat surface for it to sit on. Starting at the bottom, pull off half of the leaves. This is where the roots will grow from. Cut off any leaf tips that are brown. Set in a glass or bowl. Add enough water to cover the section you pulled the leaves off of. You should check it every day to keep the water level right. Wait. In a week or two you should see roots coming out. When you have a full ring of roots, plant in a fair size pot. Start adapting it to the sun. Remember, they like a lot of sun, water and humidity. You may not grow a full size pineapple, but, the little guys are cute to look at.

Cut the top off with about 1/2 inch of fruit left on the bottom. Let it dry out for a week or so , then place it upright on top of soil in a pot. Sprinkle about 1/2- 1 inch of soil over it, but not covering the green leafy parts. Water sparingly keep in sun. It takes about 3 years to groe a fruit from it. I have one now that is fruiting after 3 years in a pot outside-South Florida.

Yup. Cut the top and as much of the fruit off as you can, leaving the stem part intact. If you bury the base in potting soil and keep it moist, it should put some roots down and give you a new plant. It will probably never bear a fruit, but it makes a nice looking little plant.
