When people say "what is the meaning of life" what they are asking is "why do I exist? Is there a reason or is it meaningless?"

The answer depends on your spiritual status I guess. People with a spiritual bent say that the meaning of life is one ascribed by God (whomever your God may be). This is generally summarised as:
1. To worship God and show appreciation for your creation
2. To do good deeds and help other people
3. To spread the Word of God to other people

People who have no spiritual bent may or may not think there is a meaning to life. Answers from them may be:
1. Life has no set meaning and you yourself can choose what is the most important thing to do in your life
2. We are here as animals to live, reproduce and raise our young to adulthood
3. why do we need a meaning? can't we be happy with the miracle that we even exist and have the freedom to use our life is any way we choose?

Life has many meanings. In your struggle for achievements and compliments, you will be forced to take a tract. You were once one cell, but just minutes before you gained knowledge of your power, you were part of two "latent" stem cells. These beautiful small cells contained exactly the half of everything you needed to grow. And in your "own evolution" become first a protozoa, then a fish, a tadpole, and finally human being. Because life is simple, you were named and given a place to begin. This is your start-line. From there you are asked to move, until you reach particular interests. You pay your dues, and you get your recognition. Then you continue to move on. The meaning is "movement", continuous movement to achieve something. You learn some language, you have some skills, but in the end you are confronted by your very own "wisdom". Have you moved as you wished you had? Or have you not accomplished the level of perfection you were fighting to get? Love is the Key to the "understanding". The more "you are loved", the more you've had moved. "Deus ex machina" or .

Philosophers for the past five millenniums or so tried to answer the question in an abstract way. But for each of us it is also a very personal question: What is the meaning of my life, with my individuality, my personal characteristics, my gifts? How can I be part of the whole? How can I, in one way or the other, relate to the whole of reality? Reality is not the inflexible thing one would imagine according to the model of the natural sciences. There is interaction. There is flexibility. Life will become more meaningful for you if you give it meaning. This is our greatest gift that we can give meaning to a reality that only is.
Please never stop your quest for the meaning of life, and continue to ask around.
I wish you good luck on this life long journey.

To bring consciousness or the one life temporarily into form.

The purpose for this is unknown but it is believed that this is to help it evolve and learn.

Death is an illusion as we all originate from the same source - We are all the same, just taking different forms, and when our form is discared the consciousness will be displaced to other forms.

Your outer purpose or meaning is different and that is just a part of the game of life, the crazy cosmic dance - Your outer purpose is insignificant really, just to keep us occupied.

The inner purpose or meaning is like a vast unending lake and your outer purpose in the "world" is like the small ripples on that lake.

Just be happy that you are a part of something more profound and mysterious then our form could ever understand, listen to your heart and go with the flow of life.

There is no meaning to your form, but there is vast incomprehensible meaning to your inner consciousness.

Think about it, how interesting would life be if you knew for certainty all the secrets of the universe? If there was nothing new under the sun to be discovered?
If there were no mystery left to contemplate?
To seek for the meaning of life and in so doing reveal the image and magnitude of the creator to itself through living sentience serves as both a gift to us and a service to the creator .As intellect evolves into the biological drama the powers that created us realize their combined dimensions in the plasmic processes of sentient thought.
Look at Life as a mirror or window that serves as a tool for cosmic principle to sense the dimensions of it’s own being.
Thou art God.
I think therefore I am.
A partnership between the creator and what is created by the creator for the purpose of establishing identity and navigation both for the creator and what is created by the creator. An efficient and wonderful tool of alliance in celebration of the victory of Being over non-being.
Magnificence beyond humane imagination.

This sounds sweet, believe me or not, the way you ask question. It is as if you 'insist' that you want to know, then I invite you to read this - I composed this early this morning, I could have written a fully fledged personal response to your question alone but in one single day I can only answer about question of life in my mind. Life means itself afresh to me everyday, and this is especially I like very much to live and keep knowing how much more a life can mean to a single person when living with many other people, this must be endless. We have to dissolve our karma and our egos so that we can spiritually evolve and not need another incarnation. We have to become small to enter heaven. Within that purpose of life we can have our own personal meaning and purpose to live, like a vocation. There is meaning in everything but that meaning is subjective, it is us that give it meaning.

To discover your self, to find out who you are, beyond just the body you inhabit, the name you have, the friends and family, career and activities. To find the you that lies beyond the physical and the obvious. When you know that you won't have to come back and live in another physical body on the planet, wondering what the heck you are doing here.
