Resources for WHAT? Japanese cooking? Culture? Language? Natural resources?

The Japanese Embassy is a resource for information, if they speak Japanese, just say "A-go-kah?" - "A" like the letter, "go" like let's go, and "kah" - like the British might say car - it is asking for English.

The US DEPARTMENT OF STATE online is good for learning about what to expect if you visit - vaccines, passports and visas, what type of electricity they use, local customs, political instabilities, etc.

Sake (rice wine) is something they make.
Martial arts, (I am partial to Goshin Budo Ju Jutsu myself).

What EXACTLY are you asking?

Japan has very limited natural resources. They are very dependant on outside resources. Very little of Japan is capable of supporting agriculture, there are few mineral deposits and limited forest. The biggest asset Japan has is the ocean, the food it provides and the means of trade with other countries. This lack of natural resources was one of the factors behind their attempt at expansion in World War 2.

***
(1) access to the ocean
(2) agricultural resources
(3) mineral resources
(4) human resources.
