I am looking for a unique name for my baby, boy or girl. Our family heritage is Irish, French, Greek. Baby's last name is Irish. I would like suggestions, live in the city, want something somewhat original, have thought of a couple but still searching. Thanks!

I'm Irish, so I can at least help you with those . . .

Ceridwen (sometimes Cerridwen) is an Irish/Welsh feminine name with a colorful mythology/history behind it. Note that it begins with a hard C, meaning it is the sound of K rather than S.

Declan is also Irish, and this name is for a male.

These are among my very favorite names.

I came across one I really liked on this site- Katara, but I think it is from a TV show, still pretty and I've never come across one.

My daughter is Clarina - there are fewer than 100 in the US with her name and it is actually the name of a village in Ireland, I have a lot of Irish roots as well (Irish/Italian.)

I like the name Marianna and met a little girl MaryAnda (though I would spell it Marianda)

Sariah- like Mariah- is a favorite of mine as well.
Arabella
Araceli

I am not as good with boys - Mine are Richard Alexander and Zachary James - not very original. I do like Slaide and Sloane for middle names. Darian, Dorian, and Darius. Darian Slaide maybe. Good luck!

We just found out this baby is a boy, but if he would have been a girl, the name we had was

Shannon Riley

which is very Irish and lovely - I think :-)

Some nice Irish boys names are :

Aidan, Keegan, Reerdon and Quin

i named my little girl Jaiden Marie, and my son is Corin Edward. I really like the name Serenity or Rory for a girl, and Xander or Rily for a boy. definately go for different when choosing baby names.
