He can't finish off the wrestling moves like he used to. He hurt his neck many years ago and since then, was never able to return to full capacity. He has wreslted after, but always under pain. He's had many problems with the cops due to assaulting his ex wife and bar room brawls. He was on probabation for a while. He's had great success with acting and has said that would like to pursue acting as a new career.

Over the past 10 years or so he has had to wear thoes knee braces. He is not really a young many any more and the stress that wrestling has on the body is permanent. Im sure that he has retired because his body could no longer handle the stress of wrestling itself. I dont blaim him for takeing his money and running, he worked psycally hard for years, on the road and now its time for him to be with his family.

literally hours before a Raw show(live and on tv) stone cold decided he was bigger than the company and literally walked out on the WWE/F which led to a panicked re-write literally hours before the show

he hurt his neck. way back in the day he wrestled owen hart and owen poorly executed a tombstone piledriver. if austins neck wasnt so soft imagine seeing him every week on raw

Sometimes people retire because they don't need to work no more. Also wrestling does body damage and he probably thought he better quit while he was ahead.

He has very bad knees which prevent him from wrestling anymore. He has had several surgeries but they didn't help.

at wrestlemania when he was facing bret hart.hart piledrived austin.which is a move that forces all your body weight on your neck and head. therefore it messed up his neck, and plus all the abuse he took has its toll

Because he got to full of himself and felt he was bigger then wrestling and only showed up to matches when he wanted to. So vince gave him the boot.
