It's not as though Sharpton's a perfect human being either. Would it be fair to pull out HIS less than perfect past just so he'll shut up??

ps to tonalc---fair enough, but you have to admit...Sharpton's actually trying to create a bigger racial stink than most of us care to see. He just makes things worse....and then has the nerve to get fame from it!

He will never shut up. He has to keep the race thing going on for his own so called glory. He and Jackson only are out for themselves.

Al Sharpton's past has no relevance and is completely extraneous to the comments that Don Imus broadcasted across the airwaves. Mr. Sharpton and a multitude of other people with a conscious are addressing the issue of Race Perception & the gross negligence of Mr. Imus's repugnant ideologic commentary. Yes, Mr. Imus is a shock jock and has made a career of entertaining other's with insipid humour, So one cannot expect much from his character. However should we as a society field on low expectations and allow anyone to say destructive things about a group of people without any consequence? Imus has the resources via the airwaves to infect the minds of the impressionable with ignorance. If no one steps up and berate him for his degenerate comments then all of the progress that we've made thus far will perish, we will advance no furthur and evolve into a society of miscreants & fools.

Not to defend Sharpton (who taints every situation he come's in contact with) but Mr. Imus is (by his own admission) no stranger to nose candy.

His past has been pulled up, most recently in 2002. And he wasn't dealing drugs, he was talking about laundering money. And he was never indicted or convicted of anything.

Be that as it may, if everyone with a shady past would shut up, it would be pretty quiet.

I disagree ...every Politican has a past...Bush was a alcoholic and cocaine user...Ted Kennedy killed a woman in a drunk driving incident...Bill Clinton is a sex fiend....we can go on and on...Living in DC...I know of the callgirls and massage parlors that exist to service these politicans...if Sharpton is giving facts...then he is in the right
