16 years ago a wife left her 1 year old daughter with nothing but a diaper on. Before she did that she shot her then husband in the knee and cheated on him and left. Now her ex-husband is stupidly smiling on a picture with her is he crazy or what?? I know you are supposed to forgive but this woman clearly had no concern for her family then and he looks like an idiot!!

They both deserve a shot in the head for good measure. Her for being a lousy mother and him for being a simpleton. Both need to be put out of their misery.
The real victim here is the daughter. If she turned out to be a good kid it should be heralded as a miracle.

Perhaps you don't know the whole story as she may have been suffering from a mental illness when the events occurred 16 years ago. Why do you say he looks like an idiot? Is it your place to judge him like you are judging her?
Stop looking at others' perceived flaws and start looking at your own. That should keep you plenty busy while you work on your character defects and should cure the problem of judging - a major defect.

Some women stay with men who beat the snot out of them daily. PEOPLE ARE WEIRD!!! I am sorry... what was the question here? NO WAY would I be a friend to a woman .. or a man.. who shot me and my baby!!!

If she was mentally ill when it happened and had reformed, recovered or was actively in recovery, I can see someone continuing to love her through her illness & beyond.
