While Australia and New Zeland are the hot favourites to win the world cup, the chances of South Africa and Sri Lanka cannot be ruled out. It all depends which team plays against which team in the semi finals and finals. Whichever team plays better in semi finals and final will be the ultimate winner.

Well, although both teams have been impressive in this competition, you've got to favour Australia.
They are undoubtedly on fire at the moment, having won all but one of their last 24 World Cup matches (the other being a tie in their 1999 Semi Final against South Africa). Their worst victory in this year's tournament was against South Africa when they won by 83 runs, so there hasn't really been a point in the competition when it's looked like they were going to lose a match.
Although New Zealand have also looked impressive, their worst victory being a 114-run win against Canada, they haven't really come up against anyone who has posed a threat yet. They've played four minnows (Kenya, Canada, Bangladesh and Ireland) and the two teams in the Super Eight who have looked very out of form (England and West Indies). I don't doubt that New Zealand will make the Semis and possibly the final, but they have a tough run of matches coming up and must make sure that they haven't become complacent. Don't forget how poorly the Black Caps performed in the Commonwealth Bank Series!

Well, both of these teams had not lost any of their matches so far, so any of them have chances to win the cup.But I thinks Australia have better chance to win.
