I'm in the UK, and I'm sorry but I don't get what the Disney vault is about - why can't the DVDs be available at a decent price all the time?

As a Disney fan since 2, I do like watching their classics, but I just don't have £60 or more to spend just to get Sleeping Beauty or any other of their rare Special Editions on DVD that have gone 'back inside' the vault. Can anyone be good enough to care to explain this seemingly unnessary action to me?

It's a clever scheme by their marketing department to sell even more copies of the film than they normally would by artificially limiting the supply. They entice you to "buy now" because the movie will not always be available. The "Disney Vault" is a way of making the movie unavailable except during a certain window (usually, for most Disney films, they're released every seven years...there are a few notable exceptions, like "Song of the South" which the company claims will never be re-released even though it is a milestone in filmmaking achievement, marking the first time that live-action and animated characters come together in the same film).

It is unnecessary, you are correct. It just has to do with the total greed of everyone concerned.

It is Disney's way of keeping the prices high for DVD's. It is a case of supply and demand and they want to make as much as possible.

its also where the pornographic versions of "snow white" and every other disney movie produced are kept.

The animators make disney porn then lock it away in there.

It's where snow white can loose her goody goody image and where all the dwarves serve their correct purpose, in gimp masks and rubber suits.
