I have heard many bad things about akon. he is the best rapper i kno besides Eminem. if u got something to say i will listen.

He has a deep, Ton Loc, sort of voice and might have possibilites due to that but I just can't get past that chipmunk voice in "I'm So Lonely" thing. It made money and was a "hit" but I think it pidgeon-holed him as a novelty act.
That song makes me want to pull my hair out by the handful everytime I am forced to listen to it due to my 13 year old's rap/hip-hop obsession.

I don't know anything personally about Akon however, I do know he is a fine Black man! I saw his video and there was no need to have some half naked woman grinding and portraying her self as some pole dancer. He has the vocals and should rest on that, instead of demoralizing women in his video. His love songs are beautiful.

I don't like him, but I don't hate him. And I don't think many people in the US classify him as a rapper. I do have to change the channel when he comes on. For those of us who grew up singing - I mean really singing, with talent and proper training - it's like fingernails on a chalkboard to hear someone sing through their nose that much.

I don't hate Akon. I LIKE Akon. I am gonna buy his last CD this week. I don't like Eminem, though.

Wow...I didn't know he was considered a rapper.
I don't hate him, but I dislike his videos and I don't think he is talented (singing..I have never heard him rap)...
I love the verse he sang on India.Aire's "I am Not My Hair"....
He seems nice and I heard he had a struggle getting to be a recording artist...but no HATE here...

HE IS DEFINATELY NOT THE BEST RAPPER. LISTEN TO BIGGIE, TUPAC, KANYE WEST, COMMON, TWISTA...THOSE ARE SOME OF THE BEST RAPPERS.
BUT AKON'S VOICE IS JUS ANNOYING. BUT KONVICT MUSIC IS SELLING RECORD LIKE CRAZY WITH HIM AND T-PAIN

You should worry more about paying attention in school than what people think of some cut-rate rapper.
